Stress is your body’s natural reaction to challenges or changes in your life, and it can create physical and mental reactions, also known as fight-or-flight responses.
These stress responses can be a positive thing, especially considering that they can help you to avoid danger by acting as defence mechanisms. But dealing with ongoing stress can take a serious toll on your body, creating a wide range of symptoms, including everything from pain and exhaustion to sleep deprivation, digestive problems, or even high blood pressure.
One of the reasons for this is that your brain is literally hardwired to run everything that happens in your life through its own interpretation, and this can create a lot of mental chatter.
But regardless of whether you’re dealing with the stress of running a tech startup, worrying about getting back to work after being hurt in a car accident, or dealing with any other kind of stressor, stress management can be incredibly difficult.
With that in mind, I help companies to implement corporate wellness strategies for managing workplace stress, and I work with individuals to help them quiet the mental chatter, so they can disentangle themselves from their stress, and learn how to effectively manage it.
